From finding the right thread, to hand cutting each pattern, to taking the time to stitch each bag so it lasts, every Overland Equipment employee is committed to creating the best product possible. We started in1981 with one sewing machine, a shiny pair of red scissors (now well used), a garage and unmatched creativity.

Overland Equipment has grown beyond that small garage into a viable, thriving, culturally diverse business based in California. At Overland Equipment we realize our product and our company are only as good as the materials we use and the people we work with and know.

Most of the photos in our catalog and website were taken by our friends over the last year or so as they downshifted their lives, explored the world near and far, and sought connections with family, friends, food and life. We choose to live like locals, too. We still produce most of our products in the U.S. and use local resources, like graphic designers and printers, as much as possible. Some of them are friends and some of them are business partners who became friends. It’s our way of keeping connections.
